Debucourt's work of the same title, also painted on panel, was put up in an auction on November 20, 1780, in Paris. In the Salon of 1783, the artist exhibited another variant of the picture, smaller in size (15 X 15 cm). A drawing of the same title was displayed in the Salon of 1814. The Pushkin Museum piece may be dated to the early 1780s.
