Oil on canvas. 194 X 144 cm. Inv. No 2740 Signed and dated lower right: Granet Roma 1810 A preparatory drawing for this picture, made in pen and watercolors, is now in The Louvre. The picture was in the collection of the Dukes of Leuchtenberg. In 1853, after the death of Maximilian, Duke of Leuchtenberg, husband of the Grand Duchess Maria Ni-kolayevna, the picture was brought to St Petersburg. From 1884 to 1919 it was exhibited together with the other pictures of this collection in the halls of the Academy of Arts in St Petersburg.
